6XL - Mirage Ball Template

Hello contestants~ Excuse the wait, but I had to make sure that this template was perfect! Yes, your eyes are not lying to you. This is a one-of-a-kind schematic for my proudest achievement, the Mirage Ball. You may use this for design purposes ONLY. If I catch any of you attempting to reverse-engineer my product I will feed you to my darling Jade as a snack. Understood? And don't worry, I WILL catch you. I have eyes everywhere in Saros. One can't be too careful about securing the safety of one's greatest idea, yes?

Ahem, in any case. This template is free for you all to use in order to think about what design might look best for the pokemon you plan to contain within. you may use this and add it onto your applications if you feel so inclined, but please do not try to place this into your artwork itself during rounds or events. That's thievery and cause for disqualification.

Now, I'm sure you are all curious as to what exactly a Mirage Ball DOES, yes? Well, that's the obvious part. It catches pokemon, of course. Ahaha but I joke. The devil is in the details, friends, and I will tell you the details so that you may be henceforth enlightened to the workings of this magnificent invention~

A Mirage Ball is a specialized pokeball that I myself created. It came about from my studies into the ways that pokemon are able to do such fantastical things such as shoot huge plumes of water from their mouths, or cause a locally centered earthquake out of nowhere. One of my greatest interests was a pokemon from Hoenn called a Kecleon. This pokemon's key characteristic was its ability to absorb the elemental typing of whatever it was hit with, and its molecular structure changed to become similar to that type. I was fascinated with this ability, and thanks to my trusty partner Tink, we were able to mimic this ability after years of research with technology. The result, was the Mirage Ball.

As you might have guessed, the Mirage ball is able to instantly adapt to the specific elemental typing of the pokemon pulled inside. This provides the perfect counter to any means of breaking free, and is what gives it the substantially higher catch rating. Not only that, but the ball will also adapt to the environment in which it is used; such as being used underwater, at night, on bugs, or while fishing. This has lead Mirage Inc. to deem it unnecessary to produce the standard set of pokeballs such as the net ball, heavy ball, etc. It's much more cost efficient to create a single line of higher tech balls than a bunch of different types of pokeballs. As it stands now, there are no regular pokeballs in Saros any longer, only Mirage Balls. And really, why would you need any other kind? *laughs*

That about does it, I should think. Oh, and for all of you who have come to us from other regions...as a special gift for joining us for Saros' annual Sixfold League Tournament, you may go to any pokemon center near you and have your pokemon transferred into their very own Mirage Ball absolutely free! This is a gift from me to you, a thank you, if you will, for joining us for this grand tournament. I'm very excited to see the competition this year! Do your best everyone! And let your greatest dreams be an illusion no longer!

So to sum everything up:

-Mirage Balls work by adapting to the specific pokemon that are placed inside of them. They reflect this adaptation by changing color and sometimes showing a design as well. Basically this means that you all get to customize your VERY OWN pokeballs to fit each of your team members! The only requirements are that the "M" insignia on the top half and the stripe on the bottom half MUST remain intact. I know they seem like they could get in the way of a more complex design, but remember that whatever you design also has to be something you'd be willing to repeat anytime the ball appears in your comics. Sometimes simpler is better.

-However, on that note. You CAN change the COLOR of the M and the stripe. The standard color is black, but you may do whatever color(s) you wish, so long as the M and the stripe are still recognizable.

-Mirage Inc. is pretty much like Silph Co. in the other games. This means that it is the sole provider of ALL technology in Saros. Which makes sense since Mirage is the one who funded the initiative that brought Saros to its current state of peace and prosperity. What this means for Mirage Balls is that they are the ONLY ball used in Saros. Even if you are from out of the region, Mirage is offering a free service to transfer your pokemon into Mirage Balls at any Pokemon Center. And why wouldn't you want to customize your own pokeball? XD I'm sorry if this inconveniences any of you but the Mirage Ball is one of the special things we added to this group that makes us the Sixfold League. It sets us apart from others, simple as that.

-Keep in mind that while Mirage Balls are inexpensive and used throughout Saros, this does NOT mean your trainer can simply go buy some and go catch more pokemon than the three you have. Contestants are only allowed to enter with three pokemon to start with, no matter how many they may actually have stored in the PC. So catching more won't do you much good since you're still stuck with the three you started out with. Team limit expansions will be made available as the tournament progresses, don't worry.

-This template is ONLY to be used for design purposes. You MAY stick your designs on your apps somewhere, that's fine, but please DON'T try to use it for any actual entries for the competition or otherwise. This is still my art, and that's still thievery. You can use it as reference, but please no tracing or copy/pasting.
