Tried a couple new things with this commission. Firstly, one of the first illustrations I've done fully in the new style for Lunar Crisis, which is a more anime style akin to that of K-on! or Hyouka. It doesn't translate too well to pokemon, but the human girls you can easily see it.

Second, because I'm so horribly nitpicky about my line art, I wanted to try something I probably should've done a loooong time ago. That is, inking on a much bigger file and then shrinking it down before posting it. I should probably be doing that just for the sake of helping images load easier, but also if my lines are a little messy, it's fine because if I shrink it down then they magically become much more smooth. So this pic was also a trial of that. Though I shrunk it down too early and ended up coloring it with tiny line art XD But hey it turned out, right?

And lastly, it's not super dramatic, but for the first time I can think of, I started out with darker colors, and then used highlights to light the scene. I really like how it turned out!

So yeah, another check on the list! Woop!
